Busted for the last time ladies!
Thats right, our chickens have taken 'free range' to another level and have been sneaking under the fence to explore and pick away at all the takings next door.
Our lovely neighbour has been away for a while now and I dont even think she knows we even have chooks. However, the gardener who comes once a fortnight is onto us as I noticed last Friday that he had placed some wooden boards along the bottom of the fence line where the chooks have likely been getting through.
I think it was his nice way of saying keep your chooks in your own yard!
So this afternoon when I noticed the chooks weren't in our yard....again, we set off next door to shoo them back under the fence.
They did just that, ever so obligingly.
See, its so nice back on our side.
Once they were back home. I then got all proactive and neighbourly and lined the rest of the planks of wood we got from the farm on Sunday along the bottom of the fence line. Cam will dig them in properly on the weekend I suspect.
I hope the girls aren't too upset they cant go next door anymore. We shall see tomorrow!
Did I tell you we have some Barnevelder eggs and 1 goose egg sitting in an incubator in the shed? Our girls are going to be foster mummies soon. I believe we have 2 weeks to go. I cant wait for the kids to see the little chickies.
Which reminds me I better go and turn them now.
Is it windy at your place?
Do you have Barnevelder chickens?
Do your chooks wander?
