I must say when it comes to sleep in this household since having babies, I feel I have been pretty lucky, especially when it comes to the day sleep.
Hugh has always had at least one sleep that can last anywhere from 1-3 hours. Edie has been having one good 1-2 hour sleep everyday and for most of this last year they have been having this sleep together.
I always look forward to this 'midday special', with the decision to make of what wonderful activity I am going to immerse myself into for at least one uninterrupted hour. The choices are endless of course. Do I sleep, work on a project, blog, watch tv, have a coffee and read a magazine, read the paper, do I go outside and do a spot of gardening, sleep some more, look on the internet, internet and more internet, do some cleaning, or fold some washing? So many options! (What an exciting life I lead after reading that back!!)
It is becomming apparent as the kids ever so quickly creep out of their baby stages (sad face) that the 'midday special' is coming to an end. Big Sigh!!!! Hugh is deciding most days that he no longer requires an afternoon nap and if and when he does its mostly after Edie has woken up from her sleep. They have got this tag team effort thing going on. That's right one goes down, one comes up! I dont think they have both slept at the same time in the day for a couple of weeks now and my recreational pursuits have been put on the backburner. Im out of the loop already with what is the latest coffee table craze.
So much have I wanted my midday special of late, Ive even whipped out the left boob to see if Edie will nod off again on breastmilk. I will let you know that I stopped day feeds a couple of months ago. Thats getting pretty desperate and as I write it im laughing as its so bloody ridiculous. ha ha!
But it hasn't worked as the little one is too smart for me in this instance so I have had to come to terms with this new arrangement and really its not so bad.
So it was computer down today and off I went to explore* this wonderful world in the eyes of a two year old with my son, while his sister slept peacefully in her room.
What do you like to do when the kiddies are asleep during the day?
Do they still sleep in the day?
Thanks for visiting
