Around the traps. Gearing up for December.21:13:00
Another week down and only four days left of November for 2013.
December is upon us and that means Christmas and I cant wait. I love it.
I cant help myself of course so ive started putting up a few lights and decorations around the house. I will be instagraming all the Christmas delights around here so rest assured, you wont miss a thing. I have been told it is bad luck to put decorations up before December 1st. However, at the end of last week I happily noted that my local council have started their decorating of the main drag so if its good enough for them, its certainly good enough for me. My cousin in-law Sarah has also started her decorating. Yes she has!! I have been following on facebook and she has bought and individually wrapped 24 books, ready to open and read to her kids each day in the lead up to Christmas. How good is that?
I love it. It makes me feel so good hearing goings on like this in the world. So simple, so beautiful. Good on you Sarah! We so should be neighbours at Christmas. ha ha!
In the mean time for all you little grinches out there waiting for December 1, the following is a little insight into what has been happening around here lately.
Our brood are very happy in their new cage and love being let out every day. We were at the farm last night and thought it would be ok to leave the door open so they could get out in the morning. Unfortunately one of the little yellow ones has disappeared, feared cat-napped. (Geez I hate those bloody cats) Poor little bugger!
Our broody bi-iatch is one hell of a mumma. We hatched 9 little chicks on Tuesday and they are just one big adorable little chicken family. She keeps a watchful eye and I wouldn't dare get too close at this stage. Ooohh I just want to hold one of the babies!
We decided on a visit to Bunnings and stocked up on some more tomatoes. I wasn't going to as we already have 3 growing, but the lure to grow more and cash in on beautiful relish and pickles next year was too much to pass up. I look forward to having a crack at that one.
Remember this post? Check it out in all its macrame glory, and yellow. Oh yeah! I was going to put it indoors but I think it looks tops hanging just out the front door. Down That Little Lane is a great place to shop. You should definitely check it out.
A maiden hair fern needed replacing so I dug up and planted this succulent.
I also picked up this miniature looking Elderberry at Bunnings. I love the colour and will be nurturing this one to grow and grow...
Christmas is infiltrating its way inside my house. A few fun stickers with some star lights on the window. Aldi is a great shop for all things Christmas. I must go and check out my lights from the outside.
Have you started decorating your house yet?
When do you start?
Do you have any funny little quirky traditions?
I will be working on my Christmas wreath this week. I have been collecting bits and bobs and stealing pinecones and branches from the park ssshhhh, so I will let you know how that goes very soon.
Thanks for visiting today.
