In my autumn post not that long ago I mentioned that there is a song for every occasion. When stuff happens or when reminiscing about life I can usually connect the occasion to a song. This applies for some movie quotes too. For example, Whenever I think of large quantities of stuff, I get taken back to the movie The Three Amigos and the scene below where they talk about a plethora, Do you know the sketch?
Im sitting here laughing. I love that movie... Now if you haven't seen Napolean Dynamite, then I suggest you do. Hilarious! There are too many funny little sketches throughout this whole movie and when I thought of today's post about people having skills, the You Tube clip below just popped into my head. Now I'm not going to digress and start talk about numb-chucking skills, Im just going to mention that there are a lot of people out there that I happen to know who posses just good, plain, clever, useful skills.
Its really, really good having friends with skills. I have friends with sewing skills, craft skills, farming skills (hubby is my friend), electrician skills, plumbing skills, cooking skills and lots of friends with very good social skills, not exclusive to drinking skills and my fav, making you laugh skills. Oh I could go on, but you get the jist.
I have a friend who lives quite close by who I believe has awesome design, blogging, organising and did I mention Pinterest skills. Her name is Eliza and she is the reason behind the sudden beautification and facelift of my blog page. How clever is she? She also happens to be the bright spark behind the blog Eliza Ellis, which I recommend for you to check out.
We met through our Mums Group after Hugh was born so now, not only do we get to share the joys of motherhood and gossip over coffees at the park, I also now have a friend who lives very close by with whom I can share all bloggy stuff with, tips, tricks and just to generally talk about blogging. Its great and I'm so grateful.
Eliza's hubby also just so happens to be a graphic designer you see, so when I asked if she thought he would have a go at some ideas for a header and bits and bobs for my blog, the answer was a yes. Before you knew it, like the next day, I had designs sent to my email from Eliza.
For your own knowledge its no secret that most of the collages I produce for my blog are done in Picture Monkey so when I saw the designs Eliza did on her fancy pants apps I instantly loved them and couldn't thank her enough. Clearly she had taken over hubby's computer and relevant programs and just got designing away. Something I have no idea about, nor access too but I feel very lucky to to know someone who possesses these very handy skills.
I am in debt of approximately a trillion coffees now which really is nothing in comparison to how she has made my day. My blog now looks a million times better and who wouldn't be happy with that. I love it.
To see more of these designing and blogging skills in question, I think its now time that you clicked on the link and head over to Eliza Ellis. I guarantee that you will be impressed with her ideas, free printable organisers and projects for around the house, all of which will get you on your way to a beautiful home. I know she spends a 'plethora' of hours planning and designing all her printables to get them picture perfect for her followers and Im sure that you too will be impressed. I am always in awe at the detail she puts into it all. I will also just add that she is starting to muster quite a following in the social media ranks of late and when you get a chance to see her work and skills on show, you will soon see why.
Thanks Eliza Ellis. You are a champ.
