My family lives on a gorgeous property in Northeast Victoria where we graze cattle and produce grapes of numerous varieties that are made into boutique wine.
Our label 'Tarzali' is named after the place where my husband's parents used to live on the Atherton Tablelands up in far North Queensland. They produced the very first vintage of Tarzali Riesling in 2006.
Here on the blog you will be able to discover a great range of boutique wines from our Tarzali range as well as all things interesting and exciting pertaining to viticulture, particularly in our local wine region and surrounds
The wine producing side of things may be a very new and exciting venture for me, however I have always had an interest and keen thirst for knowledge when it comes to all things gardening. The term you might be more familiar with is 'pottering' perhaps?
I claim that I know lots, but then I know nothing at all when it comes to all things botanical, however I am an avid learner and feel that I have lots to share and passion to go around.
I have not a single degree or certification in horticulture or permaculture and I am self taught at best. The beauty of this is that I learn as I go and Im able to then record and share my successes, and take heed from all the mistakes.
Taking my inspiration and learning from a myriad of home gardeners in the family and from friends, my blog will hopefully inspire you to get outside, plant something, anything really and to get your hands dirty. To create your own beautiful garden oasis.
As far as blogging goes, you probably wont find a better combination of topics to peruse that pretty much delights all of the senses, all at once. Gardening and Wine. Who would have thought!!
And besides, there is nothing like a good work out in the garden to then sit back at the end of the day, with a good glass of wine in hand to admire all of your hard work.
Cheers to that I say.
I hope you enjoy your time here at The Windmill Paddock. I treasure all of your comments and hope that you too will share some of your gardening tips and secrets as well as all of your good wine finds.
Thanks for visiting
P.s The kids, the farm and all of the fun that entails will be thrown in occasionally for good measure.
